Here are some new pictures of the mantle and corbles being stained. At this point, they have 3 coats of stain on them, and I am getting ready to apply the polyurethane. Obviously, this is not an overnight process! Each coat has to dry completely to get the best results. Additionally, if I want an extreme shine with the poly, steel wool is used between each application, which lengthens the finishing phase.

However, once this is complete, I will be ready to hang the mantle, then apply the surrounding trim, and the project will be complete! Its almost done!!!

Here are some new pics of the cherry project. Ive been framing in the new wall, which the cherry will be mounted to. Well be working on the electrical rough in for outlets and sconces soon...
