Headboard Cost Breakdown

Prior to starting the headboard I made a goal to create something that looked expensive for the least amount of money possible.

Heres how I made out ...

Price Breakdown:

Wood (3/8" plywood x2, 1x4s, 1x10) .... $47
Fabric (2.5 yards with coupon code) ..... $32
Batting ................................................... $13
Cording .................................................. $1.75
Foam ...................................................... $12
                                                              = $105.75

How I cut money ...

- Buying cheaper plywood - each sheet was $14.97 - since I was doubling it up 3/8" was plenty thick.

- I purchased a foam mattress topper and turned the textured side towards the plywood instead of using flat foam.

- Cording is a cheap way to add a finishing touch and is a great alternative to nail head trim

- Buying online can save with coupon codes, free shipping and tax free if there is no store in your state - check out fabric.com

I saved time by skipping tufting and applying nailhead trim and swapping with cording.

We worked on this little by little over several days, but I would say that it could be done in 1 day

At just over $100 I think I met my goal!
